I don't care that much about the past event to burn the time... pass.....

having seen some of eastwoods better work, I always hope for more.

I gather this is not one of his standouts, but he is not the first show biz guy to make movies for themselves, just like steely dan pointed out so many songs ago.

The publicity on this film in my Los Angeles area is that it is a film I which a noble truth is brought forward, clearing Richard jewels name.

I even heard radio "man on the street interviews" in half hour public radio discussions pumping this film, with sound where people said they thought Richard jewel was the bomber.

I reject this attempt at polishing the facts. It might work as a selling strategy to dispel the slight cloud of right wing propaganda hanging about the film, but I knew the guy was innocent better than I knew his name.

Most people who knew enough about the situation to identify Jewel by name, had to also know he was not the bomber. Getting his name cleared was an equal news sensation as him being the only suspect, in early investigations, leading every contemporary news report at the time.

In any event, it will be tough to see the thing in theatrical release, not because of the subject, like the war film 1917, but because Star Wars is selling so many tickets, it is tough to want to give up a sold out house every showing to play the Eastwood stuff.
