There are films and there are books - there is no law that the films need to follow the books.

It's like the dimbulbs who rail against the marvel/DC movies because the film didn't follow the comic book - wah wah wah. Seriously. The films have to stand on their own - ALL films have to stand on their own - one should not have to read a book series to understand the movie.

As the best film critic on the internet notes with the Star Wars movies - don't tell me I need to read the novelization to understand the movie better.
