I think there are plenty of excellent actors out there.

I think there are a lot fewer quality projects for them act in and show what they can do. There are many fine actors appearing in TV, popcorn movies and blockbusters just so they can pay the rent.

As already noted, the marketplace has changed the movie product. But that doesn't mean there are no interesting, character driven movies being made, nor talneted writers and directors out there to do it. It's much harder - but not impossible.

This isn't exactly new news either LOL!
