This horrendous thing attempts to make operatic material out of a tawdry love affair between an upper-class middle-aged woman and her son's young business partner.
Oh, yes, there's a death thrown in to add "gravitas."
Vile.
Despicable.
And John Adams, who did the incredibly overwrought score, should be buggy-whipped.
