...if this situatiom was possible it would create inconsistencies on the order of those annoying time travel paradoxes...i.e. if anyone could have seen "Aliens" or any of the sequels they would also have been capable of seeing "Prometheus"...themselves, before they did what they were doing. Doesn't work. I thought the Stills thing was iust a tongue-in-cheek gag /inside joke intended for the baby boom generation members of the audience.

I too enjoyed "Prometheus"...saw the IMAX version twice and even after literally months of discussion and general cogitation I still have a few unanswered questions.
