RE: just got back from an afternoon matinee

I was not disappointed. A different type of story from Marvel. Also it is an origins story. There was interesting character development in the lead role. Top drawer cast. A gripping drama that soon enough morphs into action.

I saw it 3d Imax. The 3D was eye popping at times.

CGI = top drawer. The budget must have been very large for this one. Cumberbach was well cast for the role; a neurosurgeon turned wizard. Well at least he didn't go into politics;^)

Is it psychedelic....? Yes but we're not talking Timothy Leary asking us to turn on, tune in and drop out. We are compelled into high stakes action.

No spoilers but I will say this; like every other Marvel movie, this one is also an action flick and in that respect formulaic....but with an emphasis on the metaphysical.
