Just saw it.

Had a choice of 3D or regular, chose regular.

A quick 2.5hrs, but it could have lost about 15 min of flab and been a better movie for it.

Some cheesy dialogue and several over the top scenes. I could tell that some of Cary Fisher's scenes were CGI. OTOH I thought I may have detected a few split seconds where original 1977 extra footage was inserted.

Star Wars is locked into the Johnathan Williams score and his style of music. Several scenes would have benefited from less....a soft ballet would have worked very well ala Kubrick. But in a crucial scene silence was dramatic and added to the impact of the scene.

Seeds were sown for an insurgent uprising as well as a new "New Hope".

Luke is still a badass. Hubris and arrogance will get you every time.

My wife commented that it is still the same story, but we still like it.

And I remember my wonder at seeing SW in 1977.
