"Beau travail", the american style

Posted by Victor Khomenko on July 9, 2018 at 14:45:10:

Watching John Houston's "Reflection in a Golden Eye" inevitably brings the memories of Clair Denis enigmatic film.

Life at a small military base can get boring, stressful and adulterous.

For those not averse to some mild depression, I strongly recommend both films.

Elizabeth Taylor reminds you why she's been such a goddess, and Marlon Brando is magnetic.

You could argue that the ending smacks of a cop out... and no, the film is not perfect, but it is very, very good.
