Leave No Trace. The antithesis of the summer super hero blockbuster

Posted by Road Warrior on July 25, 2018 at 14:08:32:

Saw this today in a nearly empty theater at The Angelica. A nice, quiet, contemplative flick about a homeless, ptsd suffering, vet Will (Ben Foster) living in the wild (outside of Portland in some primeval looking rainforest), and raising his 13 yr old daughter. Of course complications to their "idyllic" lifestyle ensue.

No breasts, beasts, blood, gunfire, car chases, superheroes, cussing, or sex. Just a tale of a man and daughter that has the ring of truth. It has the feel of Witherspoon's The Wild with a much more sympathetic character in Foster. Almost a 2 hour running time and maybe not enough drama for some but enough for me on a slow popcorn munching Wednesday morn. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, Joe Bob says check it out.
