As Kal said, all you need is v1.2 for HDMI. However, the player needs to be enabled (regardless of HDMI version) to output a DSD signal via HDMI. And on the other end, the receiver must be able to accept a DSD signal (I believe there's only 2 or 3 that can, at the moment).

If you want DSD to PCM via HDMI, that's a different story: the PS3 can do that now, but DVD-A is not supported by Sony. I believe at least one Panasonic Blu-ray player supports DVD-A, but DSD/SACD is not supported by Panasonic. As Kal suggested, if next gen video can reside in a different player, then the Oppo may be your best bet.
