I just purchased a 55" SXRD, my first flat screen, and I must say that it has exceeded my expectations as far a picture quality - especially on standard broadcast. My only comparison is the LCD's and Plasmas I see in the stores, so not a head-to-dead comparison in home. And I didn't do much comparison shopping, so I don't consider myself an expert. But I am surprized at how easy the picture is to watch. But if the market wants flat and thin then rear projection is gone. Too bad.
