RE: (strong)REVIEW: Marantz BD-8002 DVD Players(/strong)

Posted by chris.redmond2@bushinternet.com on October 11, 2008 at 08:28:04:

Cheers for taking the time to write your review.

I'm holding out from buying a Blu-Ray player until I hear of one which can match or exceed my current Denon DVD-5910 when playing DVDs.

The Denon has the Realta upscaler and produces great images, but logic suggests that upscaling should get better; whether it will get better in players primarily designed for Blu-Ray is another matter.

The Marantz is a player I'm interested though as it is basically a Denon with the same upscaling technolgy, but I'd imagine Marantz will have tweaked the analogue outputs given their better audio pedigree.

I also need the 7.1 analogue outputs for my processor.

Best Regards,
Chris redmond.
