Well, according to one reviewer, 'The TC-PVT60 also beat our in-house Kuro'...

Its been a few years since the last Kuro rolled off the assembly line, and as usual, technology keeps moving ahead, so its not surprising that the latest sets will rival or exceed the Kuro.
When I bought my first Panasonic Plasma some years ago, I compared it to the Kuro. Both were properly set up and calibrated. The Kuro did have better blacks, but not so much better to warrant the large difference in cost. I went with the Panasonic, and have never regretted it.
