Hi and thanks a lot for the question
The computers have OS very big and complex .. because they have to do a lot of other things not only audio playback
But you are right ... with a minimal OS installation and with the pc completely disconnected from the web a pc is very flexible
But with a pc you still need a dac to get a decent sound
A decent dac can cost 2-300 USD at leastOn a different approach, the Oppo units have shown that an extremely good audio is possible from BR players
But starting at 600 USD they are still a little expensive for me
Moreover the 2nd hand market is full all BR players, some of them with LAN streaming functions
With little as 100-150 USD you can have a very good AV source able to do almost everything
I am reading a lot of reviews in order to understand with BR players provide both LAN streaming and great audio
Then i will be done ... at least for the AV source of course
If you have any suggestion ...
Thanks again.
