As mentioned, the Firefox browser add-on extensions are your best choice. There is no bloatware in FireFox add-ons. There are hundreds of add-on extensions available for downloading YouTube videos. You can try or install as many as you want. I have tested many and use three.

convert2mp3.net YouTube2MP3 Converter let you either download just the mp3 (audio) or the mp4 (video).

Flash Video Downloader - YouTube HD Download [4K] will let you choose from every resolution available and every type available including formats for Mobile.

FlashGot works on almost every website (including YouTube) whereas the 2 above are YouTube specific.

I would also install the Adblock Plus extension which will prevent the timed ads from running inside YouTube videos.
