RE: Guys, you need more internet speed than you think for streaming

Posted by Rod M on November 17, 2017 at 18:51:03:

Interesting. An hour of streaming, high quality, HD video is about 2GB, give or take. In theory, you'd need around 70mbps if my math is right.

I've got 50mbps service and I've noticed that it varies from pretty much DVD quality to fairly bad sometimes. Drop outs on the sound also happen from time to time. I need to go in to the Cox store and do the 'cut my bill' routine and get upgraded as well. I had HBO and Showtime for free and rarely use it, but now am getting charged and don't need it. If I bitch, I'll get it free again and get the bill cut 30% with faster internet. It's such a game.
