It seems nobody has mentioned this series, which is probably my own favorite of the year. It comes from Ben Stiller, which made me wary that it might be a silly comedy. But it is a very original sci-fi concept with comedic elements and a great cast.
The conceit is simple. The employer has created a highly secure class of severed employees, which means that their memories of work life are isolated from memories of life outside work. They do a quick procedure when they enter work and their outside life is blanked. When they leave work, memory of outside life is restored and work memories are blanked.
It's a simple premise that gets trickier and maybe less plausible if you think too much about it. But if you go with it, the series gets interesting. Each worker has essentially two separate lives. The workers do not know if they have families. Their work relationships are all they have. Characters played by John Turturro and Christopher Walken become very close at work. Outside, they do not know of each other's existence.
There are lots of odd things going on. The boss, who is not severed, uses her own outside life to spy on the activities of one of her severed employees. Some memory seepage between lives happens to one guy. At the end of the season, everything is wildly chaotic and will require resolution next season. And I will definitely be there for it.
Follow Ups:
Patricia Arquette, Walken, Turturro and, especially, Adam Scott. There's a lot of meat left on the bone after S1, cant wait for S2.

Always liked Christopher Walken, Stiller is OK in some of his parts.
In all honesty, to me this sounds like a better plot for a movie than a series, as I can't imagine this playing out season after season. But then I thought the same of Lost for example, and it was a hit.
Unless it airs on broadcast TV I'll likely never see it, even though elsewise maybe I'd try it. But then I never saw an episode of Lost either... is what it is. Enjoy.
