To a great extent, I think they are going to drive this theme into the ground. Probably going to get trashed for this, but Harrison Ford just isn't doing it for me. Helen Mirren only passes muster as I've been in love with her since "Excaliber". I know it's only the first episode, but except for the African part (which I quite liked), the only new slant is sheep. Baaaaaa.....
I'll hang on and see how E2 goes.
Follow Ups:
Episode Two:
1) The sheep wars.....boring, and Harrison does nothing but scowl and yell
2) The evil priests and nuns and the young American Indian girls school...I mean WTF is this doing here?
3) The African game hunter diversion......actually damn good.
Don't worry, I won't make any more episode comments.
duller, but it certainly was dull enough to be pretty damn dull.
Apart from it being so dull, it was uninspired, predictable with pedestrian writing
and added ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to the fantastic pantheon of Westerns made
in the past 100 years, either for the big screen or the little screen. Far too much
paint by numbers assemblage for 2022.
Love Helen Mirren but her doing Barbara Stanwyck with a brogue just plain fails.
Harrison Ford here? DULL!
