crap is still crap. I was yawning (really) fifteen minutes into this thing. Repetitive story. Repeat every plot nuance four times so even the dullest audience member "gets it." Even the fx were crummy: the scene where he jumped from car to car? Jeez. Looked like something from a bad 50s tv show...
This poor excuse for an action film made "Mission Impossible" look like high art. At least Woo isn't pretentious...
I don't know how members of this forum can praise the film. I won't begin to criticize it because that makes as much sense as attempting to convince someone a Whopper ain't haute cuisine.
This is strike two for Mr. S. : "AI" was also a pathetic attempt.
If he hadn't made "Saving P R", I'd think Steven had lost it.

Agree with a lot of posts here on Spielberg. A.I. was very good for about 30 minutes. Played almost like a Kubrick film. The first 10 minutes of Jaws is really great filmmaking. The rest? Too bad he just can't tell a story in a creative, interesting way.
