I think Pitt is a good actor. His look probably hurts him as an
actor. It's interesting that you mentioned that the Fight Club has
a better ending. I enjoyed the movie, though I thought the ending
was particularly weak (haven't seen Sixth Sense). I felt that the
movie was somehow forced to have a *happy* ending -- in the sense
that the main character shoot himself in the mouth to kill his other
self, but somehow he was still alive and rejoined happily with his
girlfriend.I don't know if letting him die would have made the movie better, but
there ought to be an another better ending. It seems nowadays people
are so commercial and conformed that even creative works are
predictable.
Geez, don't give away the whole movie. Some people may not have seen it.
I thought the twist towards the end was the good part, but I agree that the actual ending was weak. For such a dark movie it didn't make sense to have "happy" ending. But overall I think the good parts outweigh the bad. olen.
P.S. I thought the Sixth Sense was pretty good too, see it before somebody like you:) tells you the ending.
I thought the ending to Fight Club developed logically out of the beginning. Norton's character's problem is one of sameness -- his insomnia is caused by a culture of mass production, its emptiness and repetitiveness. With that in mind, the ending isn't so surprising. I was, however, slightly disappointed that he lived after shooting himself; if there's a flaw in the ending, that's where it is. Still, not really a "happy" ending, because he's unable to prevent his alter ego's planned destruction.
