... to see a movie where food was not allowed.
I am sick of listening to people rustling through their candy bags, swirling the popcorn in their buckets, chewing with their mouths open, sucking on their straws trying to get another drop of soda out of a long since empty gallon sized pail, fumbling with wrappers ....
Nachos, hot dogs, pizza slices, hot pretzels ...its a friggin' movie, not dinner.
Sometimes its like being in a room full of barnyard animals.

You would hate this place. They renovated after Katrina and the first time I went there I was not aware of the changes they made. I payed for two and it came to $32.00, after I recovered form the shock we went in side and was presented with a menu, you can read it at the link below, I just wanted a coke and popcorn but I had to order a blood orange soda and truffle popcorn instead, my wife had wine and an app. It cost over $60.00 including tip! Yes tip for the waiter service. Unfortunately this is the closest cinema to my house and I used to go frequently and they showed more indie and foreign films, now they show the same dreck that all other theaters show so now it has to be special for me to go there. If only the had a section at a reduced price with out all the frills.

...for a movie house that sold wine and beer.A small number have started to.
Movie theaters don't make a profit on the films, it's on the concessions.

...is a non-profit. Their mission is to provide "meaningful employment to people with disabilities".
They have four theaters ...small, smaller and smaller yet. All are gorgeous. The architecture is superb.
Wine and beer are allowed in the theaters if purchased at the bar.
I'll only go see a flick at the mega-plex with the picnickers if it isn't shown at the Prospector.

...excellent.
I've seen bits on TV about theaters that hire the disabled - we need more like that.
