My friend has a 6.1 and 5.1 surround receiver, with movies they only play in 5.1. Is there anyway for the reciever to convert 5.1 to 6.1? I told her no, but out of respect I want to research it more. Thanks in advance. ps the rear center speaker won't work

You don't want it. 5.1 channels is plenty. In fact, 4.1 may be better.
