My current system is basically geared towards music:Quad 99 Preamp
Parasound A23 Amp
Dynaudio Audience 70 speakers
Denon DVD-2200
misc cables/power conditioning
Sony KV-32HS510 TVWhat I'd like to do is somehow introduce home theater into the mix. I'm considering getting a Yamaha RX-V650/750 reciever and matching Dynaudio center and surrounds.
The dilema is how to share the front speakers. I can either do speaker cable swapping or interconnect swapping to the amp (using the Yamaha front preouts). Anyone know of a high quality switch box I could use instead? Would the Parasound powered fronts sound too different from a Yamaha powered center?
Ugh.. there are several different avenues to this approach, I'd like to get some feedback from someone who's attempted this already.

If your new receiver has L/R pre-outputs, you could try feeding those to the aux. input of the Quad preamp. Leave the preamp volume level at a normal setting (you may want to mark it with tape), and adjust all the speaker levels by the receiver, for video playback.
