It really depends on your speakers sensitivity, its nominal impedance and its minimum impedance and volume level you are trying to accomplish and your speakers ability to handle those spls without much distortion.
To get a 3db increase in spl level, a small change, you'd need 120watt amp, double the power. But these are usually peak levels as you don't listen, I hope, at such high levels as an average or your hearing will be damaged.
Do you have some dissatisfactions now?
And, if you do listen to home theater at all, that 15watts is not much power.
Volume isn't really a factor, I'm just looking for musical quality. It just seems the onkyo at 60 watts isn't quite cutting it. and the add on onkyo surround processer definitely needs to go!
