Just got a new TV and had to do some recabling. I obviously screwed up the preamp connections. Now when I want to listen to the universal player I have to push the CD button. But when I want to listen to the TV I have to push the tape monitor button and leave on the CD button. Will this affect the sound in any way?
It is a complete pain in the ass to pull the console back out to get to the back of the components!
Follow Ups:
It won't affect the sound. They both enter the amp circuit in the same place but if you're OCD, it'll drive you crazy anyway.
But I am going to have to get back there anyway.
When I use my smart apps on the TV I can only get sound from the TV speakers. How do I route it through my mains?
you have to connect the HDMI cable on the TV to the HDMI port that is labeled ARC (audio return channel), then you have to go into the settings on the receiver and enable ARC.
