Hi,
Is there such thing as an HDTV with 16:9 format screen (rear projection, LCD, whatever) that does not have stationary image burn-in issues? I want a large screen >40" wide that I can watch 4:3 TV in non-stretched mode (bars on either side) or play video games without worrying about permanent image burn-in. Do plasma displays do this?

I am not that technical but my understanding is that the "Burn in" is actually on the phosphor that is on the back of the glass CRT tube. Therefore any system that does not have phosphor or similar system will not suffer this problem. There are lots of TV systems around, I have a Sony VPL-VW10HT (LCD) projector ceiling mounted that has a true 16:9 image area (actually 3 LCD panels side by side) I get a 67" (diag.) (6ft wide screen) picture with the projector around 100" from the screen. look at www.audioreview.com for lots of good user reviews of all things electrical in the Audio/video arena.Hope this helps
