Netflix's latest movie. About the final tracking down of Bonnie and Clyde, based upon true events.

Co stars Kevin Costner and Woodie Harellson.

I have always liked Costner and Woodie. However, they eached played their respective characters in this movie before. Both were a tad to over melodramatic IMO, especially Costner.

This was a good movie. While an old subject, it was still quite watchable. My only afterthought is that it could have been done with way lesser known actors and still have been good.

Other opinions?

Good film, both actors used well in a nice retelling of the tale, posted on March 31, 2019 at 20:35:21

from the perspective of law enforcement instead of the usual fawning over Bonnie and Clyde. Well done by all involved.

As a period piece, it was outstanding as a depiction of US life in the 30's. One of the best in that regard.
As a story, it seems historically accurate. The end scripts told the outcomes of the players involved.
As acted, I think Costner and Harrelson really overdid the "old man mumbling" thing. I couldn't figure half of what they said.
As scripted, I couldn't follow half of the clues they worked on, and the movie was painfully slow and drawn out.

Overall, I think its a good film, mostly because of the times portrayed, and for the story of Frank Hamer and Maney Gault. These are some historic dudes that people should know about. We don't get to know Bonnie and Clyde except through the perceptions of others. The Washington Post called them the Depression-era Kardashians: A source of public fascination. Movie postscripts stated that 20,000 people attended Bonnie's funeral; 15,000 attended Clyde's.

Hamer got screwed in Beatty's glamorous take.

Read the manos arribas telling MANY times, mostly in James Lee Burke novels.

Harrelson and Costner (and Bates) were excellent but certainly no acting chops were streched.

Pretty somber (as it should be) and had LOTS of notes and tones of "Road to Perdition"- mostly
due to Thomas Newman's soundtrack, the period and ... rain.

The crowd scene at the end was particularly sad.

Good, solid film which we enjoyed.

Nice to get a more realistic movie on this subject.
