There is no Star Wars any more. They killed it.

I agree. The first three, and I mean the REAL first three, were great. Everything since has been crap at best. And the more they try to polish the turd, the more turd-like it's become.

Same thing happened to the Lord of the Rings with those laughable shite Hobbit movies.

Same thing is happening to Harry Potter.

When will they learn? Ever?

I would rank the first three as Empire being the best of the trio followed by A New Hope and Jedi last... Each trio has had a standout episode... The prequels started poorly BUT progressively got better with Revenge of the Sith being the best of that trio.... I'll have to wait until the last episode in the final three but right now I'd give a clear thumbs up to The Force Awakens. The Last Jedi IMO was just AWFUL! It IS somewhat reassuring that J.J. Abrams is directing the last installment (he should have done all 3!) It will be interesting to see where Disney goes with it all once the final episode comes out....

Live action?

Ooops.

Animated?

3 D?

Likely whatever their President of Marketing recommends, um, demands.

For me this series is overdone. Same with Marvel and the like. Disney is milking it until the mass market goes away.
