Twenty years since the start and for me The Sopranos is still the best dramatic TV show there ever was. Miami Vice ran out of gas after about three or four yeas but changed television in its own way while it was on.

Miss Deadwood (AVOID the movie) and a LOT of characters from a LOT of series..., posted on October 9, 2019 at 16:06:22

but most all of them ran their run well and ended when they should have, so don't
really miss any series, per se.

I have a lot of respect for the creators for that.

You and I may have been its only 2 viewers. What a well thought out but, short lived, series.

Also miss

Breaking Bad
The Wire
The Shield
Deadwood

As much as I loved them tho, other than Deadwood, they pretty much had reached their limit. Prolly some others I'm not remembering right now

Others that got cancelled too early that I miss are:
Dark Matter
Star Trek
Enterprise
The Invaders
Hmmm. I think maybe I watch too much SF on TV.

Luckily the new SF shows I watch have merely been delayed to next year, rather than were cancelled, such as The Orville and the new Lost In Space.

Shows that I miss are numerous but a lot of shows, especially in the US probably should have ended sooner.

Dexter is an example. I quite liked the first 4 seasons. You could argue that they should have ended it there. But it hung on for 4 more. It was still decent in parts but it wasn't what it was. You could say that about a ton of shows.

I do think a sitcom show like Taxi could have continued on and been as good. Still I'd rather leave em wanting more like Fawlty Towers than tack on some more seasons.

Still I miss Star Trek and TNG and DS9 - The West Wing - Boston Legal - The Practice - Frasier - The Black Adder - Columbo - The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson - Due South

They tie it up nicely but no new episodes after that.

Yeah, the show is midway through production for the 5th season, with an order for 16 new episodes. Won't air until all the episodes are completed.

(spoilers). It revolves about Lucifer's brothers (Amanadails?) baby with the blonde psychologist and it it'll be raised on earth or in heaven and ends with Lucifer sitting in a chair perched on a pole high over Hell.

...or was that season 4? I'll have to check that out.

I DID see season four but with all the "last season" hoopla and that last scene, I thought that was it.

I'm glad I was wrong. There are 16 more episodes coming.
