That will hit Boomer guys between the eyes. This film takes us back to Shelby and Miles beginnings and bring us through the labyrinth of Ford suits and Enzo's bad attitude.

Humor, lots of it. Enzo's beat down of Ford II was fun. Tracy Lett did a great job as II but Bale was off his game as Miles.

If you were cognizant of 1966 and LeMans, then you will want to see this.

I know of Shelby and Iaccoca but, not much about the history. And since I did not read the movie reviews, it made it an especially good movie. Not a dull moment, and new found respect for Bale's acting ability. An academy award performance imho.

I have a big problem with Damon playing Shelby. Carroll was a big handsome man in a rugged sort of way. A James Garner type. This will be a easier sell to those who have little or no experience with the Ford vs Ferrari conflict.

But it seems a great story well told.

I won't race to see it, but see it I will.

I've been a Shelby fan since a kid and have met him twice, at Lime Rock Race track here in CT. I'm pretty familiar with his persona and physical presence.

I thought Damon did a fine job of portraying Shelby. Not nearly as tall, but he got the Texas grit thing down.

YMMV

I really enjoyed the movie.

Seems like more than half the movie was on the track.

I felt exhausted when it was over almost like I had raced Le Mans. Ford v. Ford might be more accurate... , posted on November 23, 2019 at 16:29:00

Interesting story and well told.

There was a lot of racing which almost had a first person POV.

I really enjoyed it the whole thing moved right along and was very engaging.

There is also nice 2016 documentary, posted on November 25, 2019 at 04:54:10

Called "The 24 Hour War". Now streaming on Netflix - apparently they saw the opportunity.

Not only, but Netflix also is currently showing 2019 doco "Shelby American", posted on December 2, 2019 at 14:07:21

I thought the movie was great, and a swinging version of "Poke Salad Annie" at the end.

Big speakers and little amps blew my mind!
