in order to hate them.

Eastwood has done a great job of telling the Jewell story from the far-right perspective. The story recalls the destruction of Jewell's life by an aggressive FBI looking for a guilty party assisted by a media that stirred the facts to support a quick arrest and conviction.

Can you say, Rockwell and Bates for Best Supporting? Newcomer Hauser was quite effective playing a Jewell who was borderline special-needs.

All the production values were there and it is a compelling story.

Note: DiCaprio and Jonah Hill were listed as producers. Are they closet righties or just knew it would be a sure thing?

If he was anybody but a white guy this film would never have been made.

Oh, I have to see it because I was there that night. I remember walking up Peachtree Street wary of every trash can I passed.

If he had been anything other than white he would have been lauded as a hero from the get-go.

Same country you live in. Now, do we both live in the same century?

Don't you both live in almost exclusively white suburbs with appropriately high entry tag to keep certain element out?

What is the far left perspective?
I only heard the protests of fellow journalists that it's unthinkable a female reporter would spread her legs to get the insider story. The profession has such a high standards, right behind and maybe even exceeding the corporate lawyers...

No, and since we are talking crime and punishment I will relate a story my black neighbor told me. He was a career game warden in Polk county, which is way south. A 99% white county, so he's a black game warden in an all white county. He said he walked up to hundreds of men holding high power rifles and said, "Okay, hand over the guns." What's more he said they knew he was about to confiscate their guns, confiscate their pick up truck, confiscate their boat, confiscate their trailer, and hit them with a hefty fine. He said in 30 years he never once worried about getting shot.

So, how do you think, "Okay, hand over the guns" would work out in Detroit?

Actually that just happened. A female news reporter from NBC/Buzzfeed was trading sex to a man in the DOJ and got the first FISA warrant regarding Carter Page. What's worse is, NBC/Buzzfeed has never made it public, and never reported on it, because they new it would blow the Russian collusion narrative right out of the water. They have been lying to our faces for three years, along with the FBI.

I think the more egregious story is how the FBI tried to frame that American scientist for three years for the anthrax letters that were delivered on 9/11. There is no amount of cosmic coincidence in the universe that would have made those letters be delivered on the same day as 9/11 by pure chance. Nobody in law enforcement can really be that stupid.

Also generally, I don't care for Eastwood's body of work.

How do I know what? How much cosmic coincidence there is in the universe? It was a rough guesstimate.

If you've been keeping up with the Richard Jewell movie controversy, you should know that just about everyone who knew AJC reporter Kathy Scruggs, including myself, said the portrayal in the movie that she traded sex for the news scoop is pure fabrication. I knew Kathy and worked with her, and that's just not who she was (she died at age 43 of health/medication complications). Also, Jewell's suit against the newspaper was tossed out by the courts, which ruled that the story -- that the FBI was looking at Jewell as the bombing suspect -- was true.

having seen some of eastwoods better work, I always hope for more.

I gather this is not one of his standouts, but he is not the first show biz guy to make movies for themselves, just like steely dan pointed out so many songs ago.

The publicity on this film in my Los Angeles area is that it is a film I which a noble truth is brought forward, clearing Richard jewels name.

I even heard radio "man on the street interviews" in half hour public radio discussions pumping this film, with sound where people said they thought Richard jewel was the bomber.

I reject this attempt at polishing the facts. It might work as a selling strategy to dispel the slight cloud of right wing propaganda hanging about the film, but I knew the guy was innocent better than I knew his name.

Most people who knew enough about the situation to identify Jewel by name, had to also know he was not the bomber. Getting his name cleared was an equal news sensation as him being the only suspect, in early investigations, leading every contemporary news report at the time.

In any event, it will be tough to see the thing in theatrical release, not because of the subject, like the war film 1917, but because Star Wars is selling so many tickets, it is tough to want to give up a sold out house every showing to play the Eastwood stuff.

Your post is full of inaccuracies, and has nothing to do with Kathy Scruggs and the Richard Jewell story. Your claim about the "NBC/Buzzfeed" reporter does not show up in any reliable news feed, and then you throw the name Carter Page in there for no apparent reason except to repeat the widely debunked claim that the Russia collusion narrative was baseless (apparently you aren't aware of the Mueller report). Likewise, your claim about the anthrax case mixes half-truths with conspiracy theories.

Typical. All you just did was deny then accuse with no facts of your own. My anthrax letters statement was full of half truths? How so? But on to more important things.

The Senate Intelligence guy's name was James Wolfe and the young female reporter who traded sex for intelligence is named Ali Watkins. He got fired and had to plead guilty to a reduced charge and she got promoted. Link below. Maybe a guilty plea and a conviction and a court record are hard enough facts for you? Maybe you could use your journalistic powers to verify it since it's a court record. Now I couldn't find this story using Google either. They have done a fine job breaking their search engine so they can suppress stories that don't follow the official narrative. You should write them a thank you letter.

In his movie "Sully" Eastwood made the FAA officials a little bit worse than they really were. His explanation was that every movie has to have a bad guy.

Now your friend Kathy Scruggs is being made the bad guy. It helps when they are dead and can't sue. You seem to be under the impression that only journalists are allowed to lie about people, and libel them, and besmirch their character. It seems Hollywood can do the same thing, because they have an outlet to the American people to do so. How does it feel now that the show is on the other foot? Don't like it vert much do you? Doesn't seem fair does it?

OMG, it owned by Chinese Americans? What are you, some kind of racist? In case you didn't know the Chinese own a big chunk of Hollywood now. And if you think that small religious groups aren't reliable news sources then you can scratch off about 90% of all American media. Certainly CNN, NBC, MSNBC. It's funny, but I read the Wiki too, and it said NBC considers Epoch Times a purveyor of conspiracy theories like anti-vaccination. Hell, that's just one small religious group calling another small religious group unreliable. That's pretty rich.

I just chose that article because it was at the top of the search results and it did a good job explaining the FACTS of the story. Did you even try to use the keywords James Wolfe and Ali Watkins to see if you could find more "reliable" sources?

My advice would be, don't consider any news source as the final arbiter of truth. You have to do your own research and draw your own conclusions. I know that's a lot of work, but your only other choice is to slurp up someone else's propaganda.

I got a question for you. If a government employee who has access to classified information and gives that information in exchange for sex, is that a conspiracy? Remember now, it's has to involve two people.

Entertainment Tonight?

I just did a search on Duckduckgo, and there was a long list of stories from the likes of NYT, Washington Post, The Federalist.

Take a walk on the wild side and check out The Conservative Treehouse. The facts are all correct there, it's all in how you connect the dots.

If you were as informed as you say, you'd know that he was not accused of trading information for sex. He was accused of lying to the FBI about his relationship with her. He's since plead guilty to lying about the relationship. He was NEVER accused of trading information except in those conspiracy rags you seem to love. So "the FACTS of the story" are that you don't know, or seem to care to know the real facts.

Do you know what a plea bargain is? Of course you do. Leftists always have to play dumb to maintain their beliefs.

I'll give you an example. The guy who shot me in the head plead down from attempted first degree murder to aggravated battery with a firearm, and got five years. Was he guilty of attempted first degree murder? Yes he was, but prosecutors are always nervous about taking cases to trial, because juries can be fickle.

In the case of Wolfe he was offered a plea bargain by the same conspirators who perpetrated the attempted soft coup of a US president, that being Rod Rosenstein. They don't want it to get out that the first FISA warrant is out there unredacted. It's been three years and they are still redacting documents just because, CYA.

And since this has moved back to FISA and Carter Page, let me break down Russian Collusion for you, and I can give you the smoking gun proof too.

All of the Russian Collusion hoax is centered around Carter Page and Maltese diplomat Joseph Mifsud being Russian Spies. That's what we have learned from the unredacted parts of the FISA warrants. The truth is that Carter Page is on the payroll of the C_A and gets paid to talk to Russians and report back. Mifsud is an Italian spy and teaches FB_ recruits courses on counterespionage at a university in Rome. You could say that the FBI is familiar with him. Yet they told the FISA judge he is a Russian spy. That's called, "lying to the court" and it's illegal. It's double dog illegal for the FBI to do it.

There was one criminal referral in the Inspector General's (Horowitz) report and that is for an FBI attorney named Kevin Clinesmith whose job it was to write the C_A and ask them if Page worked for them. The C_A wrote back and said, Yes he works for us. Clinesmith altered the email to say, No, he doesn't work for us, and passed the email to his superiors. There is your smoking gun, and they will try to make him the scapegoat, but really this goes up to the director level, and even higher.

Now you can't say you don't know.

I'll end this with a bit of dark humor. Italian newspapers a couple of weeks ago reported that Mifsud is probably dead, and has probably been dead for two years. In fact he has been hiding in a safe house for three years. If I was Mifsud I would be very worried right about now.
