She was a remarkable movie maker, but her troubled life and art make it hard to watch. I do love her style, but I realize it is not for everyone. The darkness can get to you, it might wear you down. However, if you are resistant to it, you will be richly rewarded. We have seen some of her work earlier... this time, with much credit to the Criterion Channel, we had a chance to re-examine it, and at some point my wife just couldn't take any more. So if you have not seen her films - proceed with caution.
