TERRIBLE.
She was cuter 3 years ago.
Furrows her brow, and looks intense.
That's IT.
And her hairline is already receding.
The first one had some fun.
Chris Pine looks too old too.

Shame, they should have stuck with Wonder Woman.

WW84 makes the original series seem like great art and an intellectual gem.

Which of course it wasn't and was never meant to be, but it WAS fun.

GG still looks good but everything else about the movie is horrendous.

AND it's 2.5 hours of horrendous.

I kept with it to see how bad it would get.

Talk about rings of hell.

POS.

caught my immediate attention. Her face has thickened up a bit but still desirable.

Who is responsible for that storyline? Chris Pine crosses time and eternity while WW saves the planet from an ancient curse/god?

Guys are still want to see Gal but if she keeps turning Golda there may be only one more film left in her.

We are fucked.

In the meantime I'm pretty sure WWI and WWII are safe.

AND, if we move onward (backwards) to WWIII or beyond, and anyone thinks those
are WW sequels, let's hope the end is quick.

It's a Monkey's Paw story - an artifact grants wishes but at a cost. WW wishes for Chris Pine to live again - He comes back in a new body - she sees him but everyone else sees the guy he is inhabiting.

I would not say it was terrible - but the story is something I have seen on TV when I was a kid - oh that's right "The Monkey's Paw."

"Terrible" is Aquaman (1.5/10) - WW84 was "mediocre" - (Granted the bottom - very bottom half of mediocre). The weird thing was the effects were middling considering the cost of the movie. Also poor editing. 3.5/10

I am pretty forgiving of these movies because they're not for us - they're for kids. The mistake is treating them as "adult" films. So when I watch these kinds of things I try to say - hey I'd probably like it if I were 9 and didn't already see multiple versions of the Monkey's Paw story many times over the years.

As an adult Bill Maher is correct about comic book movies.

The problem for most of these DC movies is they are no FUN. comic book movies take themselves far too seriously which is why they are mostly rubbish.

I liked Superman and Superman II in the 1980s.

Also liked Deadpool movies because he makes fun of comic books. raunchy so won't be to all tastes with language and graphic violence but they were pretty hilarious and remain in the spirit of the character.

All the new DC stuff is overly long and overly serious. I'll give Batman and the Joker a pass because they are written as noir/detective kind of stuff and Batman doesn't actually have any powers.

Marvel too is usually a bore-fest. They made Thor Ragnorak silly and to me, it worked because IT'S A COMIC BOOK - It's supposed to be silly escapism.

Superman II was a hoot. "Kneel before Zod." Hamming it up. Gene Hackman hamming it up. What does he want from Zod - just a small island "Australia" - it was funny. Where the hell is that in most Marvel DC movies?

Plus Superman had a good soundtrack - some heart. Parents chuckled kids had fun watching it. Now it's a long slog of dullness. Can't offend these 68 groups so re-write it 12 times - re-shoot it 3 times as was the case here with WW84 - apparently the suits changed the ending Jenkins wanted - though the movie up until then wasn't great. She may be able to direct but she can't write a screenplay. A shame because the first one did have some light touches and some humor and some fun. It wasn't spectacular but it was a solid effort for a comic book movie.

No wonder they released it on TV - they would not be able to justify a box office bomb which it would likely be. This way they don't have to make excuses - they have Covid to blame it on.
