I have now seen every one of Darren Aronovsky's films except Mother, and haven't liked any of them much. Last night my wife put Noah on. I think she had seen it before and forgotten because parts of it seemed familiar to me. Really dreadful. Should I watch Mother just to complete things? I suppose it could either cement my opinion of him, or maybe it will be the window into his brilliance? ;)

But I am curious. Maybe he could go so far in one direction that he'd come back around and it would be intriguing. Lol

He may well have accomplished that on Mother, posted on June 8, 2021 at 12:18:29

Worth a watch just so you can scratch your head and ask yourself, how the heck did this thing get greenlit?

Nutty and over the top and it is left to the viewer to figure out what it all might mean or whether is means anything...but I appreciate the complete anarchic imagination. It's a love it or hate it...I'm on the love it side.
