Damn! I have had many discussions with Pat at Outside and enjoyed them. I will miss him even though our contacts were via the internet. RIP

Bummer. Very sad. A good fellow with interesting views on so many topics.

He was very sincere, a big hearted man.

Haven't seen you in a while.

Most unfortunate, and very sad. Patrick was a fixture over the years and always presented unique points of view. He will certainly be missed. My prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

When you trade roses and arrows over such a long time with someone you can't help but feel you lost a next door neighbor, a friend. We already miss you, Patrick. Bon Voyage.

I've only seen the posts. But I admit to have been entertained at the banter he produced with yourself and other brave souls on this list. The photo helps reconcile the tone of the posts to a person we finally see. A true character I can tell.

My condolences and RIP patrickU

Lord knows you treated him fairly gently most rounds.

And fairly, here.

The Outside daze, though... gloves OFF... last man standing!

Although I haven't posted as much on this board of late, repartee over films just won't be the same without Patrick's pointed retorts. I'll never be able to look at a jar of Grey Poupon again without thinking of those friendly disagreements over art and mainstream and the wry come-backs from the Patrick & Victor tag-team film champions. I must admit to missing those debates.

Given his sense of humor, I'd like to think Patrick boarded the same express as Carrie Fisher, that they met in the lounge car, strangers on an interstellar-train, traveling together on an adventurous journey toward a galaxy far far away from George Lucas. I'm sure he'd see the whimsy in that.

Peace, and farewell, Patrick.

Though I never had the fortune to meet Patrick, he struck me as the consummate Frenchmen. I fear for the wine stewards in heaven having to monitor their wine stock.

LOL! Patrick and wine always went together. nt, posted on December 28, 2016 at 11:04:01

My exchanges with Patrick in the old Outside days were always fun and memorable for me-he had such wonderful spirit, humor and zest for life.

I will drink a glass of something fitting to toast his memory this evening, and I truly sorry for the loss of your dear friend, Victor.

...Château d'Yquem in Victor's picture.

Patrick obviously had impeccable taste.

Patrick had a very good friend - a German guy, who lives on Rhein, and is totally crazy about wine. It was a lot of fun watching them argue about which wines were superior: French or German.

All in good humor and with sufficient libation along the way. On one occasion I counted seven changes of glasses on the table - of course each one was used for a particular drink.

Patrick in his comfortable setting, with his wife and that friend.

Yes, he and Patrick had an "interesting" past on Outside, Films, and Water Cooler but, they also communicated extensively "off bored" (religion, arts, politics, films, wine, etc..). Below snipped from tin's e-mail to me after I told him of Patrick's passing

"..patrick was a wonderful, happy soul and i'm so glad i got to know him--- though very unfortunately, never in person..........he never said a word about failing health. what a courageous guy.......".

I return from vacation so I am late to this news.

I was active on the sacd forum here after I got a player back in 2000. Patrick was always a genial and friendly voice and we interacted many times.

Those days are long past but I would still enjoy his less frequent posts here and on the green door.

And our infrequent interactions were still friendly and I enjoyed them.

I am very sorry to hear this news. My condolences to his family and friends.
