Just saw the Miss Marple where she meets Ian Fleming,

at an Audubon (sp?) Society meeting.
He said he was working a little spy story, but still didn't have a name for his main character.
The featured speaker was Bond, James Bond!
Hilarious, and I'll bet true that Agatha met him.

Flemming became aware of an Ornithologist named James Bond, and considered him to be among the most boring and staid individuals he had met. It was somewhat of an inside joke to Flemming that he used the name for his lethal Lothario spy.

Now whether or not Christie was present at the crucial point in time is unknown.

a real Milktoast, but he he introduced himself as Bond, James Bond, and the Fleming character whipped out his
notebook and wrote it down, pretty funny.
The Miss Marple episode took place somewhere in the Caribbean.
Christie must have known Fleming, I don't know why else she would have included that bit,
maybe an Inside Joke w/Fleming.
