A Ghost Story could have been a good 20 minute short instead of a feature film. Do we need to see 30 second scenes that could have been 5? Maybe some would disagree and enjoy a 2 MPH scenic ride. I thought A Ghost Story had it's moments and I didn't hate it... But I need a movie to work a little harder.

"In this singular exploration of legacy, love, loss, and the enormity of existence, a recently deceased, white-sheeted ghost returns to his suburban home to try to reconnect with his bereft wife. "

I thought I would provide a bit more detail. I saw this with absolutely no expectation, just a dim memory of a good review in the LA Times. So as it started, I was thinking it was some sort of version of the old Demi Moore movie Ghost, which was a love story. And I was finding it slow as well. But it turned into something quite different than that. I don't intend to spoil anything, but it became a meditation on some of the big questions, an overtly art movie that left linear plot and easy interpretation behind. It struck a chord with me, and I actually thought about it quite a bit. Like 2001 (but of course not at all like it), it does not answer everything.

Tunenut- Thank you- It's a hard movie to explain and one could misunderstand a synopsis and expect "Ghost". I appreciated what you wrote and I see your points.
It's difficult to compare "A Ghost Story" to another film and "2001"was a fair enough reference. It also reminded me of "Beyond the Black Rainbow"- in terms of pacing and unanswered questions...
At one point I cracked - "Who made this thing? Andy Warhol?" That said, the images of the film do linger and it sure wasn't Hollywood B.S.!

Much Thanks! Dr Phibes
it is quite alright to make a film that makes us think, ask questions.
Good to read that this film is not cookie-cutter Hollywood.
