So far, so good. As is usual for these later Homeland seasons, I'm guardedly optimistic^., posted on February 20, 2018 at 18:54:36

but wife bailed after the first episode. I'm gonna hang in probably til the bitter end if for nothing else than watching Patinkin chew up scenery. But yea, going from jail to head of NSA in the same day? Right.....

...yes we have.

But it's only a freakin TV show.

to sit through S7 episode 2. Patinkin gets out of jail and becomes appointed Director of the NSA. But with a mission requirement that goes absolutely against what he has always stood for.

Do I care? I decided not and abandonded the stream. I think it was Season 5 that had such a strong dramatic build-up to the last episode that.... completely and utterly let me down. After that I did not bother with Season 6. Now there is a season 7? Burn me once and I don't come back.

...first of all, I don't watch very much TV.

In the evenings I prefer to listen to music and read a book but on the weekends my wife and I look for things we can watch together.

There are shows I like, like Stranger Things and Homeland, but not many others interest me.

I've watched a few episodes of some highly rated ones on Amazon or Netflix and didn't get past the 2nd or 3rd episode.

Homeland, as disappointing and silly as it has become in many ways, is like watching old friends since I have seen all of it from the befginning.

Sometimes it's good and other times not so good.

"But it's only a freakin TV show", yes it is but, let me add, "that's a shadow of its former self" ^, posted on February 23, 2018 at 17:22:02

...you mean season 2 which featured Brodie's teenage daughter.

Or maybe the season where she slept with the young Muslim to get information.

Or maybe the season where Peter Quinn gets gassed.

Or the next one where he lives in her basement and creates havoc.

Compared to all of those, it's starting out with a lot of promise.

Sometimes it's like a car crash on the side of the road - you can't look away.

Meh... The whole season was a bet that Hilary will win and now they are trying to save it with some bullshit. So far it's a pure nonsense.
