Two great classical movies:

"The Treasure of the Sierra Madre"

Walter Huston is simply superb in his role of a cynical unshakable old man. Most people zoom on Bogart, but I think Huston outshines him.

"Our Man in Havana"

Great witty comedy, that is definitely worth watching every 20 years or so. Side-splittingly funny at times.

Victor, I want to watch vintage movies more often. We just got Netflix and Amazon prime. I'm unable to find those truly great films. Are you finding them there or some other source?

Yes, Netflix DVD's., posted on June 25, 2018 at 18:20:01

Two great ones; Our Man is a favorite. Graham Greene and Alec Guinness is a dream combo, in my opinion.

great for vintage films. Does not of course have EVERYTHING, but certainly has a very good selection. I spent the better part of the day yesterday watching old movies that were films I had never seen. Oliver Twist (David Lean version) Inside Daisy Clover and Ryan's Daughter....

Agree on Huston and love the main bad guy.

Apparently their system is not yet perfect. It does not work on my smart TV - bummer...

We were able to run in on Apple TV, but there their interface is far from perfect. For instance, we have not been able to Pause the film, then return to it. One you do anything, it kicks you out, and you have to start from the beginning. There are no Rewind, FF or Pause buttons available.

Or perhaps we simply don't know the system well yet... however, there are reports of similar issues from other users.

Something we are not doing right?

Couldn't agree more -- Huston's performance was thrilling; made the others look almost amateurish!
