 My wife loves Mr. Rodgers, so this weekend, I decided to surprise her and take her to see "Won't You Be My Neighbor?". I really wasn't expecting to like it much, but I knew she would love it. I was right about her loving it, but wrong about me not liking it. I came away from the film both understanding and respecting the man much more. He was a fascinating character who both tried and succeeded to do good. Parts of it were touching. And it was far more interesting than I expected.

I an sure for a lot of people, this is not how they'd like to spend an hour and a half. Some of you, it would be pure torture. However, if you are open to this type of movie, it comes highly recommended by me.

With so much vitriol and conflict today, it was quite uplifting to see one man's realization of a mission of love. It was a welcome escape.

 I am older than the Mr Rogers period. Think back to Howdy Doody. Your review might change my decision to see it.

 Romper Room and Soupy Sails for me. My younger sister liked Mr. Rogers. Glad to hear I might change your mind.

 I could still see it as good for younger children. He seemed to be able to connect with them. The only kids shows that weren't too kiddy for me was Ozzie and Harriet and maybe Father knows best.

 I watched the 3 Stooges, Warner Brothers Cartoons, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Mr. Ed, the Adams Family, Romper Room, Johnny Quest, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Gilligan's Island, The Time Machine, Secret Agent Man, Star Trek, My Mother the Car, The Munsters, It's About Time, The Ed Sullivan Show, The Honeymooners, The Jackie Gleason Show, The Red Skelton Show, My Three Sons, Father Knows Best, The Patty Duke Show, Dobie Gillis, The Flying Nun, Gidget, 12 O'clock High, Combat, The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone, The Wonderful World of Color and lots of old movies. That is what I remember at least!
