There are two brothers, one is a junkie who robs people to get high, the other is a morally dubious writer who all the other siblings seem to hate.

The two sisters, on the other hand, are strong and brave and morally correct. Heroic, even.

Lots of scenes of the brave, strong, good women yelling at and berating the less than noble males.

Jesus Christ, they lay it on thick here. This isn't entertainment, it's pornography for man-haters.

...some people have difficulty with strong women.

Even in the #MeToo era, seeing all that they have to put up with.

No one has 'trouble with strong women' but if you have a brain in your head you have a problem with feminist man-hating propaganda.

Seriously, are there no more original ideas for films?

For myriad reasons it's a piece of shit that has a tenuous connection to the
great, original film based on the classic, brilliant novel by Shirley Jackson.

We just barely made it through the premier episode.

It may actually be worse than the remake, garbage film from several years ago.

Maybe they need to add a MH/FP warning at the beginning of series to help
temper your sensitivities to the subject?

A Star is Born?

Those two are just in the past couple weeks.

Most of the asswipes in Hollywood seem too busy counting their returns
to bother investing any time, energy OR money in developing anything
truly new or original.

Hell, even most of the series composers seem busy reconstructing
the Game of Thrones theme into their scores these days.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the Hollywood treadmill
is as sincere as sincere gets.

That about sums up ten episodes of nothing.

Man, you ARE a glutton for punishment.

Maybe you slept through a couple?

I'm sure your dreams would have been FAR more interesting.
