Most of you know him from Strangelove, 9 to 5 or Johnny Guitar. He is a real character. Author, sailor and much more. In his late years he wrote about Tito for Rolling Stone.

Anyway I found some great stuff on YouTube. He being interviewed by Tom Snyder is great and there are more. He wrote a book called "The Wanderer" in 1963 I'm going to try and find.

I believe he served in the O.S.S. during WWII. One of the asylum members is a relative of his and has posted some memories about him, maybe he'll see this and chime in with some more anecdotes.
