I will be housesitting as a part time job and need a simple audio solution for casual listening. I have a very good DAC and headphones for serious listening but need a budget wireless soundbar which is good enough to still sound enjoyable with MOR material, vocals, piano, strings, all that sort of thing and NOT bass heavy.Any suggestions for standouts in the under $400 price area? Have picked a soundbar as the best solution as they are easily portable and unobtrusive, I will be in other peoples homes so obviously I'm very limited in what I can set up.

The linked soundbar article is worth a read. There are also the wireless/bluetooth speakers to consider like Sonos, Amazon Echo, Google Home, Beats, etc.

Thanks, as good read, pity the visio ones aren't available in Australia. For a simple one box solution though the Yamaha 106 looks ideal, maybe not serious high end listening, but that's not what it's needed in for. In

Bought a pair of these for my in-laws home when we stay there.

Looking to get a carrying case for them because they are a blast to setup anywhere you go that has an electrical outlet.

They are not wireless, but that can be added, but a direct connection should be possible, I would think.

About 3 years ago I bought the Jamo Torsten sound bar with wireless sub. Paid $700 new but I see a bunch of used ones on eBay for under $100.
I've been very happy with it for tv but not for concert DVDs. Very clear sound but not enough slam.

One caveat...It only accepts optical in.

Check out ZVOX... very happy with ours...N/T, posted on July 3, 2017 at 20:55:36
