I'm having an issue with hookup on a new Sony ES1000 blu ray player. Hooking up to our 2yr old Samsung smart tv via 4k certified HDMI cable. A regular hook up flashes an error message 'no signal". Per the Sony troubleshooting guide changing the resolution to 480P allows a successful hook up. However this is the lowest resolution and a big step down from the players 4k resolution. Have been on the phone with Sony and Samsung reps without a fix.
Would anyone have experience in resolving an issue like this?
Maybe the Sony player is defective?
Thanks

Which Samsung tv?
Which AVR are you connecting them both to?

Hi,
It's a 65" Samsung series 8. Connecting via the HDMI out on the player to the HDMI 2 input on the TV.

Try HDMI 1
I know that you probably have something else plugged into the #1 jack- but there may be a triage of format based upon what is plugged into #1...
Happy Listening

My parents own a Samsung 4K tv.When it was installed,H&H connected an early Oppo 83 player. It died and brought over the BDP-103.The Samsung would not input anything from the player (no signal) on any of its' inputs.
I might suggest that it is a formatting issue with the TV.Try pulling out the owners manual to investigate this issue.
If someone has a solution,I would be happy to re-try and install a Blu-ray/DVD player in their home. ??
