Has anyone here tried any of these cheap ones from Amazon?
I just added a Marantz nr1710 prepro to the HT section of my main 2ch system, it has a Heos streaming feature that sounds really good. But the unit has no digital output except with Hdmi.
So, of course I would like to use the Dac in my Mac c2600 to compare. Its one more box, power supply and cables, so I am hesitant to even bother.
I have been using its pre out into the Mac, so I guess its the Marantz Dac I am hearing.

I was using one with a firestick plugged into it and it worked just as well as the digital out on my tv. I originally bought it because the firestick wouldn't fit in the hdmi of the pre/pro or tv but now I use a non powered cable but it did pass the digtial signal over optical just fine.

Thanks, that's one of the ones I was looking at also.
