I installed a switch on the power supply leads so I don't have to listen to it make a wining noise all day. I expect all the comcast engineers will be curious how I did it?

I'll show them the switch, but they'll want to know how I got away with my wife not throwing a hissy fit over the five minute boot-up time before she can begin watching her shows? Of course, I would let them down as I have no solution for that.
