Trying to help my girl with her Zamzung TV crap again (I replaced the main board not so long ago and the TV is only a couple of years old)
The internet browser stopped to support https (secure) websites and she can't watch her favorite youtube content. Internet is Ok and http websites are displayed fine. It is a known issue with Samsung TV's but no one seems to have the solution. I tried resetting the TV, the smart hub and the modem and checked for latest firmware update.
Anybody has the fix?

PS. This is what I found on Samsung forum
"In regards to the Web Browser, we're unable to guarantee the support of all web pages. It's possible that the pages that require a secure sign in are not supported - this is a limitation of the browser"

If nothing else works you could always use streaming stick.

Or stream from a cell?

I'm thinking that it's a browser [security?] setting in the TV set-up menu, this doesn't make much sense otherwise

I agree that it doesn't make much sense but as the Samsung rep said in the reply on the Samsung forum it's the limitation of the browser. There is nothing in the TV browsers menu to change to fix the issue.

try going into the TV options menu and disable 'smart security'

per my son this worked on his 2018 model

it had worked, then stopped after a firmware update

he updated it manually & still no access

he found that setting, disabled it, and it worked

a bad website can't infect your TV per se it's a part of parental controls

I think that's where the setting is
