Hello friends! I am assembling my first home theater and I want to get good sound from it, I want to take the receiver for more than one year. Guys advise Denon and Marantz as I understand it are leaders in the field of receivers, but why is the price so different with the same characteristics? Which of these brands is the best to consider?

My experience says both are very good, Marantz maybe has even a better rep. Can you listen to both of them? Does music matter also? Will you be running 5.1, 7.1...? A lot to consider.
I'd check AVSforum.com out, much more AV discussion over there than here.

Are from the same parent company. Many features and most technology is shared between the 2 brands.

Both are good, but Marantz is better.

Marantz models often use higher quality parts vs a Denon counterpart, and have slightly more refined voice. Marantz sells separate pre-processors and separate amps along with integrated HT receivers. The technology of their separate processors is used in their top of range receivers.

I am on my 2nd Marantz HT receiver (and 3rd component overall in 20+yrs) and could not be happier.

My advice is get the best you can afford. If you can purchase their TOTL receiver you will be set for many years. In my case my next upgrade will to to separate Marantz pre/processor + amp.
