I ordered one in December, the first 200 units that came to the US at the end of January went to other people, not me. Still waiting for the second shipment. Has anyone had a chance to see it? I will be using it for DVD and ntsb broadcasts, I did nto order the HDTV tuner. 9 inch tubes.

Hey Samir, I thought that was you... So, how is the home-theater
system comin' along? What changes have you made in the last few months?
My system is still the same although I'm contemplating sending the
Meridian 565 processor back for DTS/MLP upgrade. Still in the thinking
mode for now...

Spike: Here are the upgrades since we last communicated:

Jon Risch sound deadening panels and bass tubes Huge improevement
Jon Risch interconnects ? improvement
Jon Risch Biwire speaker cables Big improvement

Sony TA E 9000 ES pre amp: Wonderful. I tried a DTS CD, it was wierd to hear instruments move around, I did not like the effect overall. Also very littel that I wanted to hear on DTS CD's.

Have not seen any DTS DVD's, and the ones that are proposed are avaialble in DD 5.1 My opinion: Forget about DTS, not worth the effort until there is stuff out there.

Subwoofer placement: improvment stacked in the corner.

How about you? What has helped your system?

Regarding the DTS CDs (and also applied to DD CDs), it's still in the
early stage of the process and the recording industry is trying to bring
the WOW factor to the consumer with the new format so I kinda expect
lots of special effects and not too much substance yet. It'll probably
mature and settle down in the near future but we have to live with all
the disconcerting multichannel CDs for the time being. No, I have not
done much with my system other than enjoying it with the little spare
time that I had away from my business (and when not participating in
family activities with wife/kid). I agree with your view on DTS. I've
been holding off upgrading my Meridian to accomodate for DTS/MLP until
more stuff are available.
