If you've been keeping up with the Richard Jewell movie controversy, you should know that just about everyone who knew AJC reporter Kathy Scruggs, including myself, said the portrayal in the movie that she traded sex for the news scoop is pure fabrication. I knew Kathy and worked with her, and that's just not who she was (she died at age 43 of health/mediation complication). Also, Jewell's suit against the newspaper was tossed out by the courts, which ruled that the story -- that the FBI was looking at Jewell as the bombing suspect -- was true.
